Northrop Grumman’s Lifecycle Sustainment and Modernization Solutions (LSMS) group is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to join our growing team of qualified and diverse individuals in Oklahoma City, OK. You will oversee a team of professionals who are actively developing Custom Testing Solutions, Specialized Support Equipment, and Integration activities for the B-2 Stealth Bomber, LGM-35A Sentinel Missile, and E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Test and Sustaining Engineering team within the Engineering homeroom – to include system integration, test plan and procedure development, test execution and reporting, as well as obsolescence analysis and solution development activities

  • Manage the staffing profile for a team of ~10-20 Engineers and technical staff

  • Direct all phases of Engineering Test activities from proposal through test and delivery

  • Mentor, develop, and train team members.

  • Identify, mitigate, and manage technical risks

  • Ensure schedule and technical performance for all project commitments

  • Participate in basis of estimate (BOE) development & contract proposals

  • Work with multiple teams and cross-functional departments to achieve successful outcomes

  • Interface with all levels of leadership to meet or exceed performance for all program deliverables

  • Implement best practices/continuous improvement initiatives to gain additional efficiencies and cost savings throughout contract/product lifecycle

  • Develop customer relationships and customer intimacy

  • Own and lead improvements across employee engagement, hiring, development, training, attraction, and retention of top talent

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field and 9 years of related experience as defined below, OR a Master of Science degree in Engineering or related STEM field and 7 years of related experience as defined below. Demonstrated experience directly leading a team of engineering professionals.

  • Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in: Engineering, Engineering Management, and/or Program Management related functions

  • Demonstrated expertise in system engineering processes and products throughout much of the program life cycle

  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams

  • Experience in Aerospace or Defense industry (development or test)

  • Must be a US Citizen with Active DoD SECRET or higher security clearance with investigation in the last five (5) years and the ability to obtain/maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Program clearance

  • Experience with DoD, Sentinel, B-2, or E-3 aircraft systems

  • Experience as a IPT Lead, RE, or other demonstrated leadership role related to program execution.

  • Working knowledge of Earned Value, with the ability to build milestone schedules for execution purposes.

  • Understanding of the application and development of functional and physical architectures, interfaces, requirements analysis, functional decomposition, design synthesis, integration, verification, and validation in large systems using SysML/UML and requirements management tools such as Rhapsody, DOORS, Cameo

  • Experience with HW/SW Integration

  • Experience in an Agile development environment

Salary Range: $128,000.00 - $192,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
