Who are we?
ICEYE is the global leader in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite operations for Earth Observation, persistent monitoring, and natural catastrophe solutions; owning and operating the world's largest SAR constellation. ICEYE is headquartered in Finland and operates from five international locations with more than 600 employees from nearly 60 countries, inspired by the shared vision of improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation.
Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time – even when it’s cloudy or dark – providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.
Our team is a tight-knit group of experts across many disciplines (e.g., engineering, software development, radar technology, etc.). We’re innovative, driven people who strive for excellence in everything we do. Teamwork, curiosity, and having fun are core values at ICEYE, and contribute to Making the Impossible possible!!
Why should you work for us?
ICEYE is at the cutting edge of new technology and we are continuing to build and operate our commercial constellation of SAR satellites. Working with ICEYE, you will be part of making the impossible possible, whilst shaping the Earth Observation industry. You will work with varied, diverse and engaged colleagues to further the ICEYE mission. At ICEYE we realise that without great people we can not succeed, therefore you will be an integral, valued and appreciated colleague, with the ability to directly shape the vision and direction of the business.
We actively support Continuous Professional Development, and will provide access to a range of avenues to allow you to succeed, including courses, training and attendance at conferences. ICEYE is a place where your development, your growth and your success is a priority.
What will you do in this role?
ICEYE is seeking an experienced and dedicated Training Manager to lead customer training programme development and execution within our ICEYE business. This role focuses on enabling satellite operations, providing education on SAR technology, and delivering relevant customer training through both classroom, hands-on and learning platform methodologies.
Daily tasks will include designing and delivering engaging training content for external customers and partners, with a focus on satellite operations and SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) technology. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire training delivery process, which may include scheduling, logistics, and allocating resources. You'll also continuously evolve training content to reflect advancements in ICEYE technology and satellite operations, ensuring our programs remain cutting-edge. This may include overseeing training facilities to guarantee a high-quality learning environment and establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
You'll also manage training budgets and vendor relationships, including contract negotiation. If you have experience leading a team, you'll also have the opportunity to mentor and support a team of trainers and subject matter experts, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
Requirements
You'll need a proven ability to create engaging and effective learning experiences for both technical and commercial subjects. This means you can take complex ideas and break them down into understandable, actionable content. You should also have a demonstrated ability to manage training programs, including budgets and vendor relationships, and a strong portfolio showcasing the creation of diverse digital training materials.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as you'll be building rapport and trust with clients, partners and colleagues. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing multiple moving parts. Finally, you'll need the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Experience in the space industry, with dual-usage products, aviation and satellite operations, or SAR technology is highly desirable, as it will allow you to hit the ground running.
Education: While a formal degree in a related field (such as engineering, education, or a technical discipline) can provide a strong foundation in instructional design principles, learning methodologies, and technical understanding, we recognize that valuable skill sets can be acquired through diverse paths. We believe that relevant experience and a proven track record of success in creating and managing technical and commercial training programs are paramount. If you have the required technical expertise and demonstrated ability to create effective learning experiences, we encourage you to apply, regardless of your educational background.
