This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

We are seeking an exceptional Test Engineer with significant software development and component testing experience to support the New Glenn Component Test team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Improve, automate, and simplify all aspects of the test development and execution process.
  • Develop software products to improve the rate, quality, and safety of component test campaigns.
  • Support the development, qualification, and acceptance testing of high-pressure pneumatic, cryogenic, and hydraulic components.
  • Collaborate with system and design engineers to verify requirements.
  • Design, develop, and build data acquisition systems from the ground up.
  • Collect, process, and analyze test results with a fundamental understanding of the instrumentation used.
  • Collaborate effectively across business units and with various job functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient with GitLab and Python.
  • B.S. degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
  • 5+ years of experience in component and/or environmental testing.
  • Excellent written, personal, and computer skills, with the ability to communicate clearly at both the executive leadership level and on the shop floor.
  • Proven experience in managing simultaneous project schedules against strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and post-processing test results in MATLAB, Python.
  • Experience in relevant industries such as launch vehicles, satellites, aircraft, motorsports, or oil & gas.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in the design, operation, testing, or production of pressurized (up to 6000 psi), cryogenic, actuated, and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid components, including valves, regulators, actuators, servo-valves, and fittings.
  • Experience with sensors and instrumentation (e.g., pressure transducers, accelerometers), data acquisition, and automation systems.
  • Experience with Environmental Testing (proof, leak, vibration, thermal, etc.) per standards like SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-1540, or MIL-STD-810.
  • Experience with LabView/National Instruments or DEWESoft.


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $117,498.00-$164,497.20
