Are you ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so. We want you to join our diverse team as a Deployable Aircraft Mechanic (level 4) primarily located at Edwards AFB, CA.
You will be responsible for performing minor structural repairs and modifications. Troubleshoot, repair and service aircraft and engine systems. Conduct diagnosis of malfunctions. Perform maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. Fabricate, install and test installation, routing, clamping and wiring harnesses. Read wiring diagrams and blueprints.
You may receive additional training and be cross utilized into aircraft low observable maintenance to fulfill the daily activities and duties required to meet contract requirements. Low Observable tasks include repair of composite or metallic structures, and sanding, stripping, testing, masking and other preparation tasks. Assigned work locations are Edwards AFB, CA and Palmdale, CA.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Willing/able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
- Have and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
- Accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 120 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements.
- Meet medical requirements for worldwide travel which include a physical.
- This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces.
- Must be able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements
- Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Top Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A current Top Secret clearance.
- Operational experience.
