AVIONICS SPECIALIST (HARNESS MANUFACTURING)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read, interpret, and work from assembly and operating procedures, schematic diagrams, bills of materials, mechanical drawings, and alternate parts lists to fabricate and assemble high-quality wire harnesses
- Respond to production-related non-conformances (deviation and non-deviation), drive root cause analysis, and disposition according to manufacturing policies while ensuring design integrity, product quality, and delivery timelines
- Update designs and processes when necessary, in response to manufacturing issues, parts obsolescence, system requirement changes, and technician feedback
- Review drawings and technical data packages for manufacturability and provide constructive feedback to design engineering teams
- Create and review test code for high-voltage acceptance testing
- Identify and drive lean projects to improve the manufacturing process to eliminate waste, reduce costs, improve yields, and optimize product flow through the factory
- Design and 3D print custom fixtures and tooling to support production
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of experience working in an electronic assembly and/or test production environment; OR a bachelor's degree in an engineering field
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering
- Demonstrated professional experience providing engineering and manufacturing support for the production of highly complex electronic products
- Experience designing tooling in a manufacturing environment
- Capable of solving complex manufacturing problems with little to no supervision
- Experience modeling with 3D CAD software such as NX/Unigraphics, Catia, SolidWorks
- Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and 5S techniques to the production floor
- IPC and/or J-STD certification
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to travel up to 10%
- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime and/or weekends as required
- 1st shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 2nd shift 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Must be able to distinguish colors
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Avionics Specialist/Level 1: $30.00 - $38.00/hour
Avionics Specialist/Level 2: $34.00 - $43.00/hour
Avionics Specialist/Level 3: $38.00 - $48.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
