Position Overview (Summary/Objective):

The Systems Engineer will use their technical expertise to understand the details of our customers’ requirements, identifying where Lumacron solutions meet these needs or where new features are required. They will communicate this back to the internal development team and drive it to completion with minimal supervision. This individual will support the Business Development Director in technical sales meetings as well as identifying new business opportunities and cultivating strong relationships with key clients and partners.  The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, a strategic thinker and hands-on engineer. They will have a proven track record in documenting and designing complex communications systems. This role will require clear documentation and communication around current and future solutions as a bridge between Engineering and Business Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate new and existing solutions into customer environments
  • Offer product technical expertise to customers and partners enabling them to choose the best solutions for their environment
  • Convert complex customer needs into engineering specifications, using technical expertise to bridge between customers and internal development
  • Support business development, executing the company’s business development strategy in alignment with overall corporate objectives
  • Identify, assess, and pursue new market opportunities, partnerships, and strategic alliances
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, stakeholders, and industry influencers
  • Create product and feature documentation, both for internal and external audiences
  • Balance technical skills, stakeholder management, product design and delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product, finance, and operations to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership
  • Develop business cases and financial models to support new initiatives and expansion plans

    Basic Qualifications:

        Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:

        • Knowledge of Telecoms Framing and Packet structures (OTN, SONET/SDH, PDH, Ethernet)
        • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
        • Strategic planning and execution
        • Relationship management and networking
        • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
        • Specific experience of Telecommunication/Data Communication hardware products
        • Results orientation and resilience

        This position is based out of ARKA's Edinburgh campus.
