The Company:

PlanetiQ was founded to build, launch, and operate a commercial constellation of the highest quality HD GPS-RO weather satellites, with a full constellation of 20 Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites.

PlanetiQ is profitable and cash-flow-positive with dual-use successes in both government and commercial sectors. We will be growing our satellite constellation, expanding the products we offer, and leveraging AI to take our proprietary data to the next level.

The Role:

We’re looking for an experienced, high-performing marketer who’s ready to take a hands-on approach to significantly growing our brand awareness, content, and value proposition. As PlanetiQ’s first full-time marketing hire, you’ll have the rare opportunity to define and own the function end-to-end, from strategy to execution.

Reporting to the VP of Business Development, this role starts hands-on: you’ll be shaping our brand, running events, leading content development and social efforts, and ensuring every touchpoint reflects the caliber of our mission. As we grow, you’ll have the opportunity to build and lead a team, expand our marketing footprint, and evolve into a key leadership voice within the company.

What You’ll Do:

  • Brand & Messaging: Build PlanetiQ’s voice and visual identity. Apply it consistently across all channels and materials.

  • Demand/Lead Generation: Build an effective inbound lead generation engine and enhance messaging for outbound campaigns

  • Event Management: Own end-to-end planning and execution for industry events, conferences, investor-facing gatherings, and internal launches.

  • Social Media: Develop a clear, consistent content strategy across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and YouTube. Create and post regularly.

  • Content Development: Write and edit copy for web, email, pitch decks, video scripts, and marketing collateral.

  • Executive Visibility: Secure and coordinate press, award, and speaking opportunities for PlanetiQ leadership.

  • Marketing Infrastructure: Build a lightweight but effective marketing stack (tools, workflows, assets, reporting). Experience with Hubspot and WordPress is a plus.

  • Vendor & Partner Management: Manage external contractors and agencies supporting design, PR, content, and events.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3–8 years of marketing experience, ideally in venture-backed startups, space tech, weather, aviation, energy, or related industries

  • Proven success in building a brand, managing campaigns, and executing across multiple marketing channels

  • Hands-on experience with events, content creation, digital marketing, and brand development

  • Experience with SEO, Google AIO, Lead Gen, etc

  • Strong writing and visual communication skills; you care about how things sound and look

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with executive and technical teams

  • Ability to travel ~15% of the time

  • Comfortable working with limited resources in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

  • Bonus: experience in aerospace, defense, space, weather, or highly technical industries

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $80,000 - $150,000, depending on experience, geography, and equity incentive mix
