Northrop Grumman Defense Systems looking for a Principal Project Manager. This position is located in Roy, UT.
What You'll Get To Do:
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.
Problem Solving
Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies.
Discretion/Latitude
Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Impact
Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization.
Liaison
Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. May develop and deliver presentations.

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer relocation assistance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Principal Project Management: 5 Years experience with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
- High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office suite.
- Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of the following: Developing Statement of Work (SOW) and Supplier Data Requirement List packages (SDRL).Developing, Implementing and Updates on Project Schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace Engineering knowledge.
- Previous Project Management (or similar) knowledge/experience.
- Knowledge of Project Management principles and experience, ability to utilize them professionally.
- Request for Proposal (RFP) Planning.
- Earned Value Management System execution experience
