Who are we?

ICEYE is the global leader in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite operations for Earth Observation, persistent monitoring, and natural catastrophe solutions; owning and operating the world's largest SAR constellation. ICEYE is headquartered in Finland and operates from five international locations with more than 600 employees from nearly 60 countries, inspired by the shared vision of improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation.

Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time – even when it’s cloudy or dark – providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.

Our team is a tight-knit group of experts across many disciplines (e.g., engineering, software development, radar technology, etc.). We’re innovative, driven people who strive for excellence in everything we do. Teamwork, curiosity, and having fun are core values at ICEYE, and contribute to Making the Impossible possible!!

Your Mission

At ICEYE, our Change Detection product already delivers critical insights on hurricane damage to clients. We are now seeking a visionary technical leader to spearhead the next evolution of our change detection product.

Your challenge is to take the tech lead role in the team to architect and drive the development of the technology and capabilities that enable the expansion of this successful product, scaling it beyond wind-based events to cover a broader range of natural catastrophes, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and deforestation. You will own and align the team's technical strategy to match the overall product and engineering strategy, enabling our technology to help more people and protect more communities around the globe. This is a role for a builder who wants to solve complex scaling challenges and see their work have a direct, positive impact on the world.

  • Lead with Excellence: Guide the team in executing the product roadmap, championing best-in-class engineering practices for quality, security, and operational resilience.
  • Drive Technical Strategy: Translate complex product requirements into a clear technical strategy, proactively managing risks and dependencies.
  • Mentor and Elevate: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, sharing best practices, guiding code reviews, and mentoring engineers to elevate the team's capabilities.
