The Material Control Manager is responsible for leading a team of material expeditors supporting the Integrated Mission Solutions Operating Unit. This true leader will be responsible for ensuring the proper control and issuance of all material for the Warner Robins site. The Material Control Manager is responsible for the storeroom activities inside the Warner Robins Distribution Center and should have experience with receipt, stocking, issuing, and delivery of asset & contract inventory to production lines. The manager will oversee the coordination and movement of component parts, material, hardware, and finished goods throughout the site while ensuring process/procedural compliance while safeguarding both personnel and product.

This impactful leader will ensure all material activities are executed throughout the stores area per proper conformance standards. Determines methods or places for storage considering guidelines for temperature, humidity, weight or height limits, turnover, floor loading capacity, and required space. The Material Control Manager will ensure the team members stores articles according to identifying factors; fills orders or issues supplies from stock; requisitions stock to replenish stock levels at the Inventory Control Points; and prepares stock use reports. Proper cycle counting of material will be required and this manager will be responsible for accurate inventory control that will be measured monthly.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure proper inventory accountability per company standards

  • Collaborate and act as a liaison between material planners and inventory personnel

  • Advise Program Management and Senior Material Operations Management of the status of work in progress, equipment availability, and potential material issues to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed

  • Provide direction to all employees using established policies and procedures; review all work for adequacy in meeting cost, schedule and quality objectives

  • Work collaboratively with other functional areas to meet OU commitments.

  • Drive continuous improvement, and affordability initiatives within the OU.

  • Identify critical material shortages and inventory issues to senior management.

  • Manage and communicate material risks and opportunities.

  • Ultimately responsible for inventory control, ensuring stock levels are maintained at an appropMaeriate level by coordinating the efficient movement of materials with Global Supply Chain
     

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities as evidenced by prior experience leading a team, project, or in a supervisory role

  • Experienced in inventory control, stock transfer, parts kitting, packaging principles, and movement of items through the supply chain & production infrastructure

  • Ability to manage departmental labor budgets, provide monthly labor forecasts, provide insight into proposal efforts.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

  • US citizen and ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of FAR/DFARS and associated Federal Contracting regulations

  • Minimum 7 years of inventory control, material stores, supply chain experience

  • Experience in communication, both written and verbal, with customers and senior management

Salary Range: $84,300.00 - $126,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
