About the team
In Satellogic, the Assembly, Integration and Testing team serves as an enabler to guarantee that the satellites we design can be produced by the Pilot Plant in stable processes that can scale up. They are the interface between Satellite Engineering and the Pilot Plant and owners of the feedback, processes and tools that link both teams.
You will be part of a team responsible for the electronics (computers), software and mechanical parts of the satellites service platform. The position requires understanding complex systems to be able to find and repair, as well as the ability to follow the production plan, and design the validation and verification plans for the team’s parts. In this position you will work closely with members of several disciplines, such as the electronics team and the software team, and the technicians at the manufacturing plant.
Our mission is to define and execute the technological roadmap to meet our clients’ requirements, and support its manufacturing & operation.

About the position
As an AIT engineer you will:
- Work with a team that leads the assembly, configuration and test of custom made electronic hardware setups and equipment
- Design, develop and implement hardware and software solutions for automated test, validation and
qualification - Provide support for the manufacturing team.
- Design improvements of manufacturing procedures, DFMA.
- Provide design feedback according to testing results
- Oversee equipment calibration, equipment repair and equipment sourcing efforts
- Create and maintain accurate and efficient procedures
- Plan and organise the uses of satellite setups
- Collaborate with the development of hardware and software tools to increase quality and efficiency within AIT operations
Location
The preferred location is Montevideo.
About you
Experience & knowledge:
- Engineering degree in software/electronics
- 2+ years of experience working with electronics in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years working with highly integrated systems and interdisciplinary teams (e.g. electronics, software, optics, mechanics, etc.)
- Experience in electronics, systems engineering or related fields.
- Experience with real-time constraints and hardware interfaces (e.g. SPI, UART, I2C, USB, ETH and MQTT, Ethernet)
- Familiarity with Linux OS
- Knowledge of Python language
- Troubleshooting of standalone hardware and related services
- Hardware diagnostic and repair
- Language: Intermediate English written and oral
- Availability to travel approximately 20-30% of the time
Desirable experience and skills:
- Experience in design of electronics test boards
- Experience with embedded systems
- Experience with analog/digital, power and RF electronics at system level
- Experience in electronic hardware maintenance administrator
- Experience in the space sector
- Linux shell scripting
- Familiarity with Docker or containers technology.
- Planning, tracking and documenting tasks
- Systemic vision: understand the complex architecture of satellites, seek for the system level optimization.
- Ability to understand and manage discrepancies and tradeoffs by exploring different alternatives and points of view.
- Knowledge of C language
- Experience in process definition, measurement and automation of test and assembly operations
