Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Cyber Systems Engineer OR Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Duties include:

  • Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
  • Interact with users, evaluate vendor products, and make recommendations to purchase hardware and software along with coordinating installation and providing backup recovery.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Work with cloud-based engineering software regarding growth and maintainability for lab usage.
  • Set up administrator and service accounts
  • Maintain system documentation
  • Tune system performance
  • Install system wide software
  • Allocate mass storage space

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time and on-site. This position requires the ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

This position can be filled at either the Cyber Systems Engineer OR Principal Cyber Systems Engineer, depending upon the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications for Cyber Systems Engineer: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of relevant engineering experience OR Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II (or higher) certification (example: Security+CE)
  • Solid understanding of planning, design, and implementation necessary to support a large enterprise system
  • Working knowledge of or experience with NIST 800-37 RMF body of evidence artifacts such as SSP, SCTM, POA&M’s, SAR, RAR, CONOPs, ISA, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with vulnerability, compliance, and security incident event monitoring tools (ACAS, ESS, Splunk)
  • Knowledge of computer software, hardware, and firmware related to computers, local area network / wide area network environments
  • Experience installing and providing technical support for software applications and operating systems
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of relevant engineering experience OR Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of relevant engineering experience.
  • Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II (or higher) certification (example: Security+CE)
  • Solid understanding of planning, design, and implementation necessary to support a large enterprise system
  • Working knowledge of or experience with NIST 800-37 RMF body of evidence artifacts such as SSP, SCTM, POA&M’s, SAR, RAR, CONOPs, ISA, etc.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access
  • Active CISSP certification
  • Masters Degree in Systems Engineering or Cyber Engineering
  • Experience with System Administration and Cloud-based Engineering software and maintenance.
  • Experience working on a multidisciplinary team with writing technical principles
  • Experience developing cybersecurity architecture(s)
  • Ability to and comfort with interfacing with all levels of employees and management
  • Knowledge of Program Protection and OPSEC or Key Management
  • Understanding of Anti-Tamper standards and how these relate to cybersecurity
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills
  • Basic /Advanced Systems Administration in major COTS SW platforms
  • Works well in a team environment

Salary Range: $80,500.00 - $120,700.00Salary Range 2: $99,300.00 - $148,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
