Procurement Specialist

Virgin Galactic is seeking highly motivated Procurement Specialist to support our Supply Chain team. Guided by our values, “Safety above All”, we proactively manage the risks inherent in human spaceflight through our daily actions in the design and assembly efforts.
In this role, you are responsible for assignments related to supplier setup, Purchase Requisition and Purchase Order schedule management, demand validation, and ad-hoc support the department needs.  

Responsibilities 
•    Review and refine existing business procedures and processes within the Supply Chain scope of work and develop new procedures for improved business flow
•    Work with Buyers, Commodity Mangers and the Finance Team and assist with:  
•    establishing new supplier profiles and maintaining existing profiles 
•    creating Purchase Requisitions (PRs)
•    Create PO schedule reports and work with Buyers to manage supplier delivery dates, expedite past due or urgent deliveries
•    Primary contact for Accounts Payable and Buyer team to resolve PO billing issues
•    Manage PRs throughout the business cycle from approval through conversion to Purchase Orders (PO) by
•    creating status reports, tracking approvals/processing and managing PR corrections 
•    Identify suppliers and issue POs for Materials, Parts, and Services 
•    Liaise with suppliers to support PO set up and assist with troubleshooting 
•    Resolve any discrepancy issues for the Material Handlers and Buyers teams 
•    Identify process issues, make recommendations and execute improvements
•    Work with Design Engineering and Buyers to resolve issues in design criteria, identify alternate parts and track design changes 
•    Partner with Production Planning to evaluate current and future procurement needs
•    Create quote packages in support of the Buyer by compiling design documents, drawings and files

Required Skills & Experience
•    Bachelor’s degree or Supply Chain Certification
•    Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a support role within a procurement organization 
•    Experience processing supplier quotes and creating Purchase Orders
•    Understanding of design drawings, specifications and manufacturing processes
•    Ability to document work in progress and maintain effective records
•    Strong knowledge of computer applications and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
•    Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail 
•    Solid ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal/external clients
•    Ability to manage competing tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex procurement environment 
•    Prior experience using Oracle, Agile, 3Dx PLM preferred
•    A general understanding of Aerospace manufacturing procurement processes preferred
•    Prior experience using Oracle, Agile, 3Dx PLM preferred
 

The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $57,050.00–$82,700.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
