Job description

Location: Playa Vista, California (in-person, five days per week)

Outpost is pioneering Earth return logistics for space. We're building vehicles that can return payloads from orbit safely and precisely—enabling faster space-based manufacturing, global delivery, and entirely new capabilities in the space economy. Our spacecraft is already backed by the U.S. government with multiple missions ahead. We’re a mission-focused team, building with urgency, grit, and care for the work we do and the people we do it with.

The Role:

Outpost is seeking a detail-oriented and driven FP&A Associate to join our team. In this role, you’ll focus on building and maintaining robust financial models that drive our forecasts, budgets, and long-term strategic planning. You will also help prepare management reports and provide data-driven insights that support business decisions.

This is a high-visibility position reporting to our President. We’re looking for someone early in their finance career with a strong foundation in modeling and a desire to grow. You’ll be empowered to take ownership of key processes and practice the fundamentals of high-growth finance in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

This is an ideal launchpad for future internal and external roles in finance, investment banking, venture capital, or corporate accounting and you will be mentored by experts with decades of experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of post-graduate experience with a focus on financial modeling or FP&A
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to translate data into insights
  • Work on-site full-time in Playa Vista, CA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models for forecasting, scenario planning, and decision support
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Track actuals vs. budget and highlight key trends, variances, and risks
  • Work cross-functionally to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and improve forecast accuracy
  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting, board prep, and investor materials as needed

COMPENSATION:

  • $85,000 – $115,000, commensurate with experience
  • Incentive Equity
  • Annual Performance-Based Bonus
  • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance
  • Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • PTO
  • 401k with Company match
  • Subsidized daily catered lunch, snacks and coffee
