Mission Brief
As a Legal Officer at Isar Aerospace, you will work in the Legal & Government Affairs department, collaborating with the Director Legal & Regulatory and the in-house legal team of Isar Aerospace and providing legal advice in a wide range of business areas, including corporate governance, commercial transactions, compliance, and contract management. You will furthermore work closely with various departments such as finance, commercial, technical, business development, corporate, and supply chain, helping to manage legal risks and ensure legal compliance across all company operations.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
- Provide support in daily legal operations and legal advice on a wide range of legal issues (related to commercial and supply chain contracts, compliance, data protection, intellectual property rights and contract management), preferably with a strong focus on German corporate law (Gesellschaftsrecht)
- Provide legal support to internal stakeholders, including in the procurement and technical departments, on a range of matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Support corporate transactions, restructurings, and other strategic projects
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, relevant for the company’s activities, keeping the company informed of potential legal implications
- Draft and review legal documents and carry out legal research to support various aspects of the company's operations
- Assist in improving processes and policies for Isar Aerospace as the company grows
- Support cross-functional teams with legal input in a solution-oriented and business-focused manner
- Contribute to and support compliance programs
- Create awareness, presentations and documents for other departments to standardize processes and increase knowledge of legal issues/go’s and no go’s
Qualification Checklist
- A full graduate degree in Law, preferably from a German university or within the German-speaking community
- At least 5 years of practical experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department, additional experience is a plus
- Capability to understand complex issues and to provide timely and practical advice and solution-oriented recommendations
- Solid understanding and experience in German corporate law (Gesellschaftsrecht), additional knowledge in commercial law, contract law, and compliance is a plus
- Ready to constantly learn and evolve
- Autonomous, organized, and rigorous
- Readiness to handle multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong analytic abilities along with critical thinking skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate both with internal stakeholders and external parties
- Open to expand beyond your primary responsibilities to work on additional legal matters that arise from the operations in a fast-paced and dynamic international environment
- Fluency in English and German
