The Role:

The Corporate Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance and reporting for MDA and its subsidiaries. This role will ensure compliance with Canadian and global tax regulations, assist with the implementation of tax strategies, and partner with business units to optimize tax outcomes and mitigate risk. The Corporate Tax Manager will collaborate closely with external advisors, auditors, and internal stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. The position will be reporting to the Director of Taxation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the preparation, review, and timely filing of corporate tax returns for the MDA group of companies
  • Manage quarterly and year-end tax provision processes, including current tax calculations, deferred tax calculations, accounting entries, and reconciliations in accordance with the IFRS accounting standards
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable domestic and international tax laws and regulations, including monitoring legislative changes and assessing impact on the organization
  • Support and review transfer pricing policies, documentation, and compliance across jurisdictions
  • Manage and coordinate responses to tax audits, inquiries, and notices from tax authorities
  • Assist with all aspects of external and internal transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, financing, and corporate reorganization
  • Drive process and system improvements for tax compliance and reporting, leveraging technology and automation where possible
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and business units to ensure alignment on tax matters and integration of tax considerations into business processes

Requirements (experience/skills):

  • Minimum 5 years of corporate tax experience, including experience with multinational, public operations and international tax matters
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred
  • Completion of or enrolment in the CICA in-depth tax course, or a combination of education and experience
  • Proven experience managing tax compliance and tax provision processes for a large, complex organization
  • Strong technical knowledge of Canadian corporate taxation
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Ability to excel in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent attention to details while maintaining highest level of efficiency
  • Ability to work well within a team environment

Other Considerations: 

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

The compensation range for this position is $120,000 -140,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
