Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is currently seeking an Manager Production 3 to support our growing business in our Rocket Center, West Virginia location.

 Rocket Center, WV is located along the North Branch Potomac River in Mineral County, West Virginia and is home to the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL), a government installation operated by Northrop Grumman. Role description & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Energetics Value Stream at ABL (approximately 30 managers and 190 individual contributors)
  • Responsible for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDEC) of energetic manufacturing on plants 1,2 and 3.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is always maintained
  • Provide clear and concise written and verbal instruction
  • Interface with program management, operations supervision and engineering to maintain production delivery schedules
  • Interface with maintenance and safety departments to issue routine and emergency maintenance permits
  • Lead the Value Stream in continuous improvement activities
  • Monitor and adjust manpower in support of Delivery requirements
  • Develop direct reports

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or management field with 8 years of experience OR a High school diploma with 12 years of demonstrated experience as a lead or a supervisor in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience working in an Energetics manufacturing environment 
  • Prior management experience
  • Ability to provide sound judgment to ensure overall safety, quality and efficiency of the department.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and MS Office; experience using Solumina & Costpoint
  • Eligible to obtain a DoD Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite
  • Flexible with work assignments. 
  • Proactive safety attitude

               
This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location.  Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.

Salary Range: $84,300.00 - $126,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
