Job Summary
The Aerospace Corporation is looking for a Tax professional with strong experience to lead our Financial Reporting department. In this role, you will be responsible for leading all facets of corporate tax reporting. Bring your seasoned tax experience and do your best work at Aerospace! We are looking for a team-oriented, self-starter to join us!
Work Model
This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA, which requires 100% onsite work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare and file federal and state tax-exempt returns; compile related tax workpapers
- Prepare and file various state annual property tax returns; compile related monthly fixed asset data
- Leads and coordinates company responses to state property tax audits
- Corresponds with state and federal tax authorities regarding tax issues
- Collects data and arranges payments for international tax returns and filings
- Leads and coordinates tax projects and initiatives
- Provides general and detailed information for and interfaces with internal and external auditors
- Prepares general ledger account reconciliations and related journal entries
- Assists with other Financial Reporting department responsibilities including benefit plan financial statements, benefit plan 5500 reports, and corporate financial statements
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for the Financial Reporting Staff IV include:
- Bachelors degree Accounting, Finance or related field
- Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in the tax field
- Experience in extracting data, preparing tax filings, and managing tax filing process
- Experience interfacing with, responding to auditors
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience preparing auditor schedules and/or analyzing accounting data
- Position requires working a standard 5-day schedule and occasionally working in excess of standard working hours during fiscal year-end preparation, close, and audit
In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Financial Reporting Staff V include:
- Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in the tax field
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- CPA and/or public accounting experience
- Masters in Taxation or MBA
- Tax software experience (Lacerte)
- Experience leading, designing and implementing department projects
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a keen understanding of deadlines
- Experience documenting desk procedures
- Understanding of government contracting regulations, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
- Experience with data analysis techniques / data analytics

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
