What We Need    
  
Kymeta is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SSQE) with extensive experience and expertise with managing new product introduction and resolving quality issues with global and domestic suppliers in a calm, efficient manner, leading Corrective Action investigations and conducting failure analysis.  High proficiency with mechanical, electrical, and software related failure investigations.  Comfortable in multidisciplinary environments where the issues are in high level systems or in the lowest level electrical and mechanical components. Experience in the satellite, consumer electronics or telecommunications industry strongly desired. 
  
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • The SSQE drives improvements in product quality, cost and delivery through investigation of quality issues and by exercising the corrective action process. 
  • The SSQE audits suppliers and maintains required quality system records to facilitate the approved vendor list. 
  • The SSQE partners with Sourcing Managers to provide technical support in development of new products, define tests, inspections and validation processes for supplier commodities. 
  • The SSQE generates and presents quality reporting on a weekly and monthly basis – FAIR status tracking, nonconformance tracking, and supplier DPPM. 
  • The SSQE leads teams to create new processes and procedures and improve existing ones. 
  • The SSQE leads the focused effort to triage, conduct root cause analysis, define rework and retest processes and assist in addressing corrective actions at Kymeta or the original contract manufacturer 
  • The SSQE leverages personal experience as well as multi-disciplinary resources to resolve failure analysis challenges. 
  • The SSQE converts discoveries regarding root cause into corrective and preventative action plans. 
  • The SSQE works with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Manufacturing Test Engineering to generate meaningful process changes to correct process escapes  
  • The SSQE leads the Kymeta Corrective Action process and chairs the Kymeta Corrective Action Board.  
  • SSQE candidates must have the ability to work overtime including evenings and weekends depending on need 
  • SSQE candidates must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally for supplier audit and corrective action 
  • SSQE candidates must have solid technical writing skills to create and improve concise, clear processes and procedures. 
  
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
  • 7+ years of hands-on, hardware engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment such as aerospace, medical or automotive. 
  • Expert in supplier evaluation, auditing and management of global supply chain 
  • Expert in manufacturing processes for fabrication and assembly of fabricated metal and plastic parts as well as mechanical and electronic assemblies 
  • Strong knowledge of APQP – supplier assessment for selection, FAIR, establishing capability and stability 
  • Strong quality-related statistical knowledge – Cpk/PpK, Sample sizing, DOE, ANOVA 
  • Experienced in Excel for efficient report generation from Kymeta system datasets such as inventory consumption, nonconformances and FAIRs  
  • Strong Electrical Engineering fundamentals (analog/digital design, signal/power integrity, etc.) 
  • Strong Mechanical Engineering fundamentals (tolerancing, material properties, GD&T, test and inspection methods) 
  • Strong Systems Engineering fundamentals (interaction of firmware with hardware, operating environment with system performance, etc) 
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience in a dynamic, fast paced environment 
  • Experience leading a project or small, cross-functional team of engineers with proven results 
  • Extensive experience with Failure Analysis from component to system level 
  • Extensive experience with corrective action programs 
  • Solid understanding of various problem solving methodologies including but not limited to 8D, FMEA, Ishikawa 
  
EDUCATION 
  • Engineering degree (MS preferred) 
  
COMPENSATION 
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $130,000 – $175,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
