Mission Brief

Isar Aerospace is looking for a talented, motivated and dynamic individual to contribute to our mission of democratizing access to space and offers you the opportunity to apply your modelling and systems engineering knowledge and skills in the great environment of Europe’s New Space industry. In this role your main tasks will be to support our CTO Office in the planning, execution and implementation of model-based systems engineering tools for the design of Spectrum and future launch vehicles to help us drive the company to the next level and have the most direct influence on our success.

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

  • Support the CTO Office in the architectural design activities of the current and the future Spectrum versions
  • Conceptualize, design and implement a model-based systems engineering tool which describes the functionality of the integrated launch vehicle and its subsystems
  • Carry out the development of models of propulsion, fluids, structures, avionics and guidance systems and coordinate with their proper implementation together with the technical departments
  • Validate the representativity of the stand-alone models
  • Contribute to the development and the validation of the full design tool, driven by top-level requirements
  • Execute of sensitivity studies that support trade-off decisions on the top-level architecture of the launch system and the design of its primary subsystems
  • Support the CTO Office with the definition and implementation of system requirements

Qualification Checklist 

  • Currently enrolled at university
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in Python
  • Experience in model-based systems engineering and multi-disciplinary optimization principles
  • Excellent organization skills to effectively plan and manage work, respond to conflicting demands on an ad-hoc basis and prioritize appropriately
  • High level of attention to detail
  • “Can do” mentality and positive attitude
  • Excited about working in an international environment
  • Fluent in spoken and written English

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with Matlab and Simulink
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Skills in German language
