Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer. We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer based out of Orlando, FL. As a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Cross-Domain Handling of Releasable Data (CHORD) portfolio. CHORD is a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) two-domain Cross Domain Solution (CDS). The CHORD portfolio comprises multiple contract awards and with various customers. The successful candidate will be exceptionally meticulous, collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & personal responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of seeking the best performance from everyone.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- The Principal Cyber Engineer Systems will maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
- Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field and 5 years of related technical experience; Master’s degree in a STEM field and 3 years of related technical experience, or PHD in a STEM field and 1 year of related technical experience
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Current DoD 8140 Certification IAT Level II or higher (Security+, CISSP, etc.) or ability to obtain one within 6 months
- Solid understanding security vulnerability scanning and remediation in accordance with STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, and industry best practices
- Demonstrated experience working with security frameworks, specifically NIST 800-53
- Demonstrated experience communicating effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal or external customers, in written and oral formats.
- Demonstrated experience developing and documenting security processes and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work within strict timelines and make sound decisions with limited information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computing environment certification (Linux preferred)
- Demonstrated experience working with CMMC compliance
- Demonstrated experience implementing security automation using tools like Tines or Ansible
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and implementing security changes to maintain and improve the overall system security posture
- Develop and maintain security auditing dashboards as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
- Experience with encryption and hashing algorithms, including implementing, and maintaining digital code signing
