Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has and exciting opportunity for a Project Management Specialist (Experienced [Level 4]/Senior [Level 5]) position that is a proactive self-starter, to join the Electronics Programs Team based in El Segundo, CA.

In this role you will lead others to hold a successful weekly pipeline working meetings consisting of a combination of: cross functional meeting leadership, a cross unit pipeline perspective, Microsoft Project expertise, familiarity with the Electronics Units build flows. You will need to demonstrate proficiency in project management areas in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO standards) and will be required to maintain associated reporting.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Functions as the primary project contact to Identify key project schedules and updates
  • Develops, integrates and analyzes schedule plans for high reliability space electronics unit hardware development and delivery
  • Leads weekly pipeline schedule reviews
  • Drives weekly working meetings
  • Utilizes production reports to capture schedule information
  • Determines if linkages and logic need to remain in place or be modified
  • Captures and summarizes rationale for changes
  • Leads schedule efforts with IPTs/CAMs and capabilities to optimize pipelines
  • Provides in-depth analysis of project(s) schedules as well as projected and historical reports for incorporation into future product/project plans
  • Capture impacts and constraints involving unit hardware development and delivery

Position Responsibilities – Senior Level 4:

  • Leads, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for complex projects, programs and change driven activities in accordance with project management industry
  • Leads studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), reports, risk assessments and planning efforts to determine impacts, constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives
  • Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case
  • Develops and establishes lead time requirements
  • Facilitates and ensures integration of project/program plan, schedules, change and baseline management, processes, techniques considered to be best practice across the industry
  • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives
  • Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion
  • Coordinates commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies

Position Responsibilities – Lead Level 5:

  • Oversees, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for highly complex or difficult projects, programs and change driven activities to execute in accordance with project management industry standards
  • Directs and provides high level studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), determines scope, reports, and oversight of planning requests
  • Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case
  • Develops and executes the process and strategy for the integration of plans and schedules
  • Consults and recommends integrated planning, scheduling, change and baseline management, processes, techniques and tools to management considered to be best practices across the industry
  • Recognized as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives
  • Authorizes commitment of resources by obtaining approvals from stakeholders
  • Oversees deployment of approved recommendations at Division, Business Unit, and/or Enterprise levels

Preference is expected to be 100% onsite but hybrid will be considered. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 1st shift.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • More than 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • More than 3 years of experience managing project schedules and utilizing standard project management tools
  • Experience working with military or space electronics

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Management Professional (PMP/PMI) Certification
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • More than 5 years of experience managing project schedules and utilizing standard project management tools
  • More than 5 years of experience in a leadership role
  • More than 3 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment
  • More than 3 years of experience working with military or space electronics
  • Experience managing multiple project schedules simultaneously and prioritizing tasks

Typical Education/Experience:

Senior Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.

Lead Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years' related work experience, 19 years' related work experience, etc.

 Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range Senior Level 4: $115,600 - $142,800

Summary pay range Lead Level 5: $141,950 - $175,350
