We’re looking to expand our team across the board.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Systems Engineering Manager to lead the Operations and Sustainment Phases of our Space Vehicle missions. The individual needs to be a self-starter able to execute autonomously, willing to stretch outside of current knowledge areas, and open to executing our active on-orbit programs. The role requires technical leadership, customer interfacing, problem-solving, and quick decision-making. The engineering manager will lead a small team of systems engineers, while also making individual contributions. Salary commensurate with abilities and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical oversight for programs in the operations and sustainment phase of a program
- Drive technical problem solving and anomaly resolution
- Interface with key mission partners
- Lead and drive interdisciplinary technical teams to ensure program success and close on orbit issues
- Verify requirements on-orbit when applicable outside of LEOPs
- Resolve program blockers and communicate needs to maintain mission execution
- Delegate tasks to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
- Collaborate with team members, management, and customers to ensure projects are completed to standard.
- Identify risks and form contingency plans as soon as possible.
- Communicate with the team about challenges, failures, and successes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Systems Engineering or related technical field.
- Understanding of the SE ‘V’, the interdependencies associated, and ability to apply the methodology to program on-orbit execution.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Engagement with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and coordination skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and techniques for eliciting and motivating team performance.
- Planning and organizing skillsets including schedule definition, cost estimation, and personnel forecasting.
- Active SECRET Clearance required. Active TS/SCI preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience as a system engineer or similar broad technical role. At least 5 years of experience working satellite programs in operations.
- Project leadership experience (such as chief systems engineer, product lead, or team lead).
- Experience performing anomaly resolution and designing for fault detection, isolation, and recovery.
- Experience in Customer (internal and external) communication.
- Experience in all or most phases of a program life cycle, including the design, test, and operations of a space vehicle.
- Experience leading requirement verification activities.
- Strong understanding of spacecraft fault detection and resolution
- Experience in SV design, test, or operations preferred.
