The Position: 

As an Integration and Test Engineer/MTS, you will be joining a cross-functional team that provides a service to the rest of the company by facilitating and standardizing integration and testing activities. As the DAQ/Automation engineer on this team, you will be programming tools that will enable sensor fusion and automation for testing of complex systems. 

Tool programming includes developing custom DAQ and intuitive graphical user interface solutions specific to each test campaign. 

In integration, you will wire sensing and actuation hardware to the test carts. You will get exposure to the different technologies used at MDA to validate designs. 

In testing, you will train the engineers and technicians on using the tools you develop and support them in their pre-, during and post-test activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn and apply industry standards to robotic hardware testing
  • Liaise with cross-functional team members to ensure testing needs are met and pr
  • Develop custom test systems (data acquisition and automation scripts)
  • Create user-friendly graphical interfaces to facilitate testing
  • Train test operators on how to execute tests with the developed tools
  • Support the build of a test rig through wiring sensors to the DAQ;
  • Write post-processing scripts of the acquired data;
  • Identify and procure testing equipment
  • Manage relevant testing equipment inventory, scheduling and usage
  • Support continuous improvement activities  

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Controls Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years experience writing scripts from scratch with MATLAB and LabVIEW
  • 1+ years experience setting up automated tests (mechanical and electrical)
  • 1+ years experience with NI hardware (cRIO, cDAQ, cSeries Modules, etc.) and/or PLCs
  • 1+ years experience with debugging software and hardware
  • 1-2 years experience communicating ideas, test results, or analysis results
  • Demonstrated ability for detailed hands-on work.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, with strong attention to details.
  • Knowledge of signal processing and control theory
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and task-prioritizing capability in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience using NX CAD tools to rapidly prototype GSE or mechanisms is an asset
  • Experience with other programming languages (Python, SQL, etc.)  is an asset
  • Understanding spacecraft design and verification is an asset

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

The compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
