Inside Leonardo Space Division we are looking for a Remote Sensing Engineer (Optical / Multispectral / Hyperspectral) based in Roma plant.

Job Responsibilities:

Design data processing pipelines and single processing modules focused on Optical/Multispectral/Hyperspectral data exploitation

Analyse, evaluate and implement applications focusing on Optical/Multispectral/Hyperspectral  data exploitation

Draft/review technical documentation and presentations.

Education:

Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering / Software Engineering / Mathematics / Physics or related field/experience

Preference will be given to candidates holding a PhD.

Seniority:

Junior: 0-1 years.

Preference will be given to Master Thesis on subjects crossed to specific key competencies (see below).

Key Competencies:

Experience in optical image processing and spectral analysis applied to Optical/Multispectral/Hyperspectral imagery

Experience in pre-processing pipelines development and use such as cloud cover masking, atmospheric correction and radiometric calibration

Experience in AI application to multi/hyperspectral data such as classification, object detection or time series analysis 

Experience with GIS and remote sensing software (e.g., QGIS, OTB)

Strong programming background (Python)
