We’re on the hunt for a motivated and talented Engineering Student in our Mechanical Analysis department at our Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue office. This is a 4 month mandate (with a possibility of 8 months) starting in September 2025.

Overall the successful candidate would be treated similar to a new graduate joining our company, where tasks will be assigned relative to the level of schooling and experience achieved to date.

The successful candidate will contribute under the supervision of seasoned experts to the selection of materials and processes that meet the stringent physical & chemical requirements imposed by the space environment.

As our Engineering Student, you will:

Responsibilities:

  • Using documentation, research papers, analysis and tests, he/she will support the design of space-borne equipment to address the following issues: outgassing, contamination, atomic oxygen attack, corrosion, stress-corrosion, humidity effects, radiation effects, etc.;
  • The candidate must thrive in a concurrent engineering environment, he/she must also be pro-active, and be oriented in providing “engineering solutions”;
  • The candidate is expected to provide support to multiple departments (Engineering, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing).
  • The candidate will be supporting the laboratory testing of metallic and polymeric materials.
  • The candidate will support the drafting of technical documents such as testing reports, procurement specifications, manufacturing processes, etc..
  • The candidate will support drafting deliverables to clients.
  • The candidate will be learning different material specifications and space material requirements.

 

Experience and skills required:

Candidates must have the following knowledge, experience, and skills:

  • At least 90 credits completed before the start of the internship for a bachelor's degree in Material Science or Mechanical, Aerospace, Material Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Dynamism, with initiative and good interpersonal skills;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, in particular ability to write technical documents.

 

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of metallurgy, plating, adhesives, paints and coatings, composite materials and other advanced materials;
  • Bilingual.
  • Knowledge and hand on experiences on testing equipment such as SEM, FDIR, DSC
  • Knowledge on NDT and Mechanical testing procedures
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Selected courses in material science
