Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a passionate Sentinel Principal Software Engineer - 13926 to join our team. This role will be based in Roy, Ut. and support the Sentinel Program.
Your responsibilities will also include:
• Develop vertically traceable requirements
• Develop software that meets documented requirements
• Develop unit tests of developed software, and participate in peer reviews of other developers’ code
• Utilization of strong software engineering skills adhering to program established plans and procedures
• Participate in solving complex integration challenges
• Participate in software development life cycle
• Be actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development, including iteration planning and status
• Defect reports in a timely fashion to support incremental product builds and releases
• Assist senior developers with product integration in the lab(s)
• Support use case development, requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Basic Qualifications:
• 5 Years experience with Bachelors in relevant field of study; 3 Years with Masters, 1 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.
• Must have an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
• 3 Yrs of experience working in an Agile environment
• 3 Yrs of experience working with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design principles
• 3 Yrs of experience with object-oriented languages such as C++ or Python
• Experience with two or more of the following tools: Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket, Gitlab, Jenkins, Sonarqube, Fortify, or Coverity
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline
• Active Special Access Program (SAP) read-in
• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or similar
• Experience with full stack software development
• Experience with modern desktop applications, virtual machines and containerized applications
• Experience with debugging software in both the desktop and target environments
• Experience developing on a program that delivers periodic releases in a process-driven CMMI environment for a government customer
• CMAKE script knowledge
• Git source control and Atlassian Suite (Jira, BitBucket, etc.) knowledge
• Experience developing software that interfaces
• Experience with real-Time Component Framework (RTCF) knowledge
The role encompasses the full software development lifecycle, including designing, developing, testing, integrating, documenting, and deploying microservice-based applications in a Linux environment. The engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines or other automated deployment methods to streamline software delivery. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to produce robust, containerized software solutions. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code in either C++ or Python. Additionally, they are expected to contribute to the integration of software across multi-domain and multi-platform environments, applying established software engineering principles and best practices throughout the process.

Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
