About the Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Technical and Sales Enablement Specialist to join our team! This role is responsible for internal learning and development, driving technical education initiatives for our sales and supporting internal teams, including sales enablement, through tailored learning and development programs. You will also play a critical role in engaging and supporting the growth of our broader learning and development initiatives at Planet.
This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to be in our San Francisco HQ 3 days per week.
Impact You'll Own:
- Develop and deliver technical training and enablement initiatives for our internal Planet team by creating and updating resources such as guides, tutorials, and on-demand courses.
- Develop and manage engaging educational events, such as webinars, live training sessions, and workshops, to empower the Planet team in using Planet’s data, tools and solutions.
- Analyze internal team feedback and platform metrics (Planeteer Academy) and external customer feedback and metrics (Planet University, Planet Community) to identify knowledge gaps and areas for improvement.
- Assist in designing and maintaining an effective Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure internal team members can easily access and navigate learning resources.
- Collaborate with product teams to stay updated on new features and communicate them effectively to customers through educational content.
- Support internal Learning and Development (L&D) initiatives with a focus on empowering sales teams through tailored enablement resources and training programs.
- Deliver and manage enablement resources via Planeteer Academy, our internal LMS platform for employee learning and development.
- Work closely with sales teams to understand their needs and deliver technical product education that supports sales conversations and strategies.
- Create and deliver interactive training sessions, enablement tools, and resources to help sales representatives effectively communicate product value.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate sales enablement initiatives with broader business goals and align internal learning strategies with company objectives.
- Work closely with the Revenue Operations team to identify new sales tech stack training and enablement needs (e.g. Salesforce, Gong, Gainsight, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Clari, etc.)
- Develop a strong understanding of Planet’s business to optimize efficiency and create a culture of sales excellence
What You Bring:
- 4+ years experience in curriculum development, instructional design and VILT (virtual instructor-led) training
- Experience developing and delivering sales enablement material to sellers and sales support teams (Professional Services, Pre-Sales, Sales Development Representatives, Customer Success, etc.)
- Experience working with and training to CRM software, such as Salesforce.com
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and their applications for training and education
- An interest or basic knowledge in remote sensing and/or GIS industry
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools with minimal instruction
- Ability to be self-motivated and work independently with excellent communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and experience working under tight deadlines
- Experience working within a team environment
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Challenger sales methodology certification (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of Skilljar LMS
- Experience leading a sales enablement team at a previous company
- Experience in GIS/remote sensing, customer support, technical education, or sales enablement
- Experience and familiarity with sales tools (e.g. Gong, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Gainsight, Clari, etc.)
- Proficiency in additional languages, with priority given to Spanish, Portuguese, German, and French

Compensation:
The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is listed below. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only.
