We are the pioneers of commercial space, leading the transformation of low-Earth orbit into a global space marketplace. Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic person who is fueled by problem-solving, continuously curious, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Propulsion Engineer – Fluid Systems to lead the design, analysis, and integration of spacecraft propulsion fluid systems. This role involves defining requirements, coordinating with vendors, supporting system modeling, and driving verification through testing. The ideal candidate has a strong background in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, propulsion components, and system-level integration, with experience in both development and flight certification.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and support the design, development and maturation of propulsion fluid systems, including feedlines, regulators, valves, tanks and pressurization systems
Utilize modeling and simulation tools to evaluate system performance, fluid dynamics, thermal effects, and transient behaviors
Perform detailed sizing and selection of propulsion system components, ensuring compatibility with performance, thermal, and structural constraints
Evaluate and select materials with compatibility in oxygen-rich environments, ensuring resistance to ignition, combustion, and degradation under operational conditions
Drive and support propulsion system and fluid component testing to anchor analytical models, validate simulations, and refine system performance predictions
Define, coordinate and control the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle
Define, plan, and execute system and component-level tests, including development, qualification, and acceptance tests
Coordinate and manage technical requirements, design verification activities, and schedules with external vendors
Lead and participate in internal and external design reviews, ensuring compliance with system requirements and project milestones
Collaborate with avionics, structures, thermal, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful integration of propulsion fluid systems
Work closely with the engine team to ensure fluid system design aligns with engine performance requirements
