Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Industrial Engineer - 14611. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.

This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with knowledge in the fabrication, assembly, system integration, and testing of hardware. The candidate will be involved with

shop floor planning and analysis for the Command and Launch integrated facility and how products flow in the overall manufacturing process. The candidate will need to

demonstrate exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, have the ability task orient and communicate effectively with varying levels of Customer, NGC, and Supplier

employees and leadership.

The qualified applicant will

  • Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals

  • Be proficient in the principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc)

  • Have a knowledge of manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain

  • Experience with project and manufacturing schedules

  • Understanding of schedule waterfall build with setbacks to independent demands

  • Experience with labor standard development and work measurement

  • Experience with Facility layout and have the ability to visualize and layout routings

  • Part of the responsibility can include factory and facility layout

  • Experience with cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments)

  • Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements

  • Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution

  • Possess strong organizational, planning and decision-making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different technical backgrounds

  • Effective verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and self-starter

  • Ability to present (PowerPoint, speaking in front of upper management, technical presentations vs overviews)

  • Ability to visualize and layout routings (Flow chart, Excel, etc)

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. 

Job Qualifications:  

• Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 10 years of relevant experience; PhD with 8 years of relevant experience (In lieu of formal degree – 4 years of relevant experience will be added to non-STEM degrees)
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time
• 6-8 years of experience with Facility layout and have the ability to visualize and layout routings 
• 6-8 years of experience with labor standard development and work measurement
• 6-8 years of experience with manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: 

• Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) degree or in a manufacturing engineering related field
• Be proficient in the principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc)
• Experience with project and manufacturing schedules
• Understanding of schedule waterfall build with setbacks to independent demands
• Experience with cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments)
• Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements

Salary Range: $134,300.00 - $201,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
