Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic 3 to join our diverse team of professionals located out of Edwards, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to include in-depth repair as required on powered and non-powered ground support equipment.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on special purpose vehicles, GEM carts, and forklifts.
- Review maintenance records of periodic maintenance to ensure equipment is fully operational in support of daily equipment requirements.
- Use an assortment of basic hand tools in addition to precision measuring devices for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Work from complex written instructions such as formal test specifications, blueprints, drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- May instruct lower level mechanics in technical aspects of Ground Support equipment work.
- Exercise appropriate safety measures.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 4 years of related military / professional experience.
- Must have previous GSE Mechanic Experience.
- Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces.
- Must be able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements.
- Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
- Must have and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
- Must be able to accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 120 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements.
- Must meet medical requirements to include applicable vaccinations for worldwide travel.
- Must have the ability to obtain or maintain a DoD Secret clearance prior to the commencement of employment.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with aerospace industry.
- Active DoD Secret clearance
