Product Repair / Mod Technician (Mid-Level or Senior)

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level or Senior Product Repair / Mod Technician to join the International Space Station (ISS) team in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Mid-Level or Senior Product Repair / Mod Technicians

 Position Responsibilities:

  • Disassembles systems components to support the correction of failures or implement changes

  • Performs routine troubleshooting of electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components

  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components

  • Inspects component before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components

  • Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications

  • Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations)

  • Works under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years’ experience working with Digital Volt Meters (DVM), Oscilloscopes, AC/DC Power supplies, Frequency Generators, and/or Power Meters

  • 3+ years’ experience interpreting and reading electrical blueprints

  • 3+ years’ experience in electronics or electrical troubleshooting

  • 3+ years’ experience with soldering

  • 3+ years’ experience with electrical/electronic troubleshooting, routing, splicing, connectors, bundle dressing, etc

  • 3+ years’ experience as a mechanic working with structural, mechanical, electrical, or other systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Associates degree in electronics, science or in a general technical field

  • Experience performing bench testing of Avionic and Electrical commercial/space aircraft components

  • Experience constructing wire harnesses and panels by cutting, sorting, color-coding, measuring, stripping, crimping, soldering, and routing various lengths, types, and gauges of wire, heat-shrink, and other related materials

  • Familiar in the use of Electronic Work Order / Planning systems

Work Location:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Safety Sensitive:

This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

NASA Access:

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Mid-Level Summary pay range: USD $59,500 – $80,500

Senior Summary pay range: USD $70,550 – $95,450
