Position Description:

 

We are seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our team. The duration is for a Summer 2025 / 10–12-week assignment. This internship provides hands-on experience in a dynamic production environment where you will support process improvement, lean manufacturing initiatives, quality control, and the integration of new technology into our operations. It’s an ideal opportunity for students pursuing a STEM degree who want to apply their education to real-world engineering challenges.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform purchase order reviews, planning reviews and supplier data reviews, to ensure that quality requirements are captured and flowed down
  • Interface with business partners over quality related issues
  • Contribute in a team environment, be flexible, and volunteer support to meet team goals

 

  • Assist in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Support the design and implementation of tooling, fixtures, and automation systems.
  • Collect and analyze data to improve workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (quality, production, engineering) to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action for production problems.
  • Assist with documentation, including process instructions, work procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct time studies and assist with ergonomic assessments.
  • Contribute to new product introductions and prototyping efforts.

Requirements:

 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related STEM field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferences:

 

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, or assembly. 

Salary Range: $25 - $32.00 Hourly rate
