Role:
The Lead Electronics Test Engineer/Specialist will be responsible for design, integration and commissioning of specialized complex electronic test equipment for testing mixed signal (Digital & RF) electronic products used in satellites and other space-based systems. The chosen candidate will work closely with PCB designers, Digital (FPGA), Software and RF designers, and will lead a product integration team developing complex test systems and validating flight equipment. The responsibilities include tasks management, resource planning as well as other day-to-day activities to ensure effective team performance and adherence to schedule and budget. The dynamic work environment will allow for exposure to many facets of electronic product development.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of complex test equipment in an aerospace environment
- Understand test and validation requirements and architect test methodologies that minimize cost
- Write and execute test procedures for aerospace electronics.
- Design and assemble custom test rack solutions, including environmental test fixtures, instrumentation, harnesses, etc.
- Coordinate with FPGA and test software designers to finalize functional concepts and integration.
- Develop continuous integration (CI/CD) frameworks and test sequences.
- Assist the UUT design team in producing required data and compliance matrices.
- Lead the testing and debugging of test equipment and support the UUT design team during testing and debugging.
- Produce technical drawings, reports, and other documentation.
- Develop experimental techniques to contribute to the development of new technologies.
- Prepare internal and external reviews of UUT testing.
- Plan the team's work to meet required schedule and budget objectives.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree and minimum 10 years of experience in testing electronic systems, high-speed digital communications (20 GHz+), and RF communications
- Team leadership experience of minimum 3 years
- Familiarity with the Agile methodology
- Familiarity with qualification strategies for development of space flight electronics, or high-reliability systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD framework and pipelines (Jenkins)
- Strong knowledge of various protocols such as RS-485/422/232, I2C, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, IEEE802.3, Gigabit Ethernet, SerDes and other serial interfaces and peripherals.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design. Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware irregularities. Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscope, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, arbitrary waveform generator, SPI bus analyzer, JTAG interface, etc.
- Experience with test processes such as thermal, vacuum, shock, vibration, dynamic burn-in, life-cycle, EMI, etc. is an asset
- Fluent in written and verbal French and English.

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
