TVAC/Vibration Test Technician:

Under the direction of the facility lead, oversee and conduct equipment maintenance, calibration and test activities in a space hardware test facility. Opportunity to participate in the testing of highly complex units or systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assembly, modification, maintenance and verification of equipment including Thermal/TVAC chambers and vibration tables
  • Support testing, experiments, troubleshooting, alignment, and calibration of complex units and systems
  • Propose test methods and identify the source of a failure in a test bench or assembly
  • Record and analyze data related to test or experimental results. Prepare reports and make recommendations within the scope of assigned tasks
  • Assist in the preparation of facility processes and procedures
  • Perform work in accordance with internal procedures and in compliance with facility occupational health and safety regulations
  • Support and initiate issue identification and resolution using established processes and systems

Duties by Assignment:

Thermal:

  • Prepare and actively monitor/control thermal and thermal vacuum tests
  • Perform mechanical maintenance of thermal vacuum test chambers and related equipment

Vibration:

  • Prepare vibration tests including sensor verification, test fixturing and handling
  • Perform maintenance/calibration of vibration related equipment and testing systems

General maintenance and calibration:

  • Conduct general intervention planning and perform simple to complex maintenance of test installations
  • Perform calibration, modifications/repairs, and precision measurements on equipment of all complexity

Facility logistics:

  • Manage inventory and supplies using the inventory purchase requisition process
  • Coordinate and support incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Plan, organize and oversee subcontracted tasks

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent in mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, electronic engineering, or a related field as assigned
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience and relevant knowledge per assigned duties and related to space hardware testing
  • Excellent knowledge of environmental test equipment
  • Ability to solve new and complex problems
  • Demonstrates initiative and responsibility

The compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 - $181,500.00 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
