Embedded Software Engineer

Odysseus Space is looking for a full-time embedded software engineer, who will help Odysseus Space to achieve its goals, in collaboration with the rest of the team. The engineer will join our headquarters in Luxembourg. Fluency in English, theoretical and hands-on experience in software engineering are required for the position.

About us

ODYSSEUS Space opened in Luxembourg in 2019 and is developing its CyclopsTM laser communication solution to bring lightspeed connectivity from Space to ground. Starting from Low Earth Orbit, the company aims at connecting any point in the Solar System to the Earth. With ODYSSEUS entering a new phase of product development, we are searching for motivated professionals to join our young & international team to work on the next-generation commercial products that will shape the space missions of tomorrow.

Responsibilities

• Developing, debugging, testing, and verification of our free space optical communication terminal embedded software, in interaction with the rest of the team and in direct supervision of a senior engineer.

• Development, debugging, testing and validation of software ground support equipment.

• Documentation writing and review.

The right candidate

• Holds or is currently pursuing a master’s degree in software engineering or equivalent.

• Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and takes pride in high standard execution of tasks

• Has experience in C/C++ for bare-metal and OS-hosted applications.

• Has experience or is willing to have experience with real time operating systems.

• Has experience or is willing to have experience with version control systems.

• Has experience in fast prototyping and testing, in interactions with the rest of the team.

• Be familiar with Linux-based environments.

• Is familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and Teams or is able to get acquainted in a fast manner.

• Is an outstanding verbal and written communicator in English with great interpersonal skills.

• Has experience writing quality technical documentation.

• Has a citizenship from a member state of both EU and NATO.
