Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal OR Sr Principal Hardware Integration Engineer to join our team supporting a tactical edge program. This position would be based in Aurora, Colorado.

Job Summary:

Primary responsibilities related to integration, assembly, testing, and checkout (IATC) of high-precision tracking radar systems and associated electronic disciplines to include digital and analog signal processing, high power RF transmitters, receivers, antennas, antenna positioning systems, computers, and computer interfaces.

Job Duties/ Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Ensure effective communication between assigned engineers and all other participants in the integration and testing process.
  • Support agile software development team.
  • Support the development of system test solutions in accordance with project technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Document test requirements and methodologies in the requirements management system.
  • Review system engineering documentation to ensure test plans and methodologies meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete
  • Support the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software/hardware system integration testing
  • Participate in engineering peer reviews as a document originator or reviewer to ensure technical quality and engineering rigor is appropriate

Basic Qualifications

  • Principal: 5+ Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's degree in STEM; 3+ Years of relevant experience with a completed Master's degree in STEM; OR 1+ Years of relevant experience with a completed PhD in STEM [a completed degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is required to be considered for this role; an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree]
  • Sr Principal: 8+ Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's degree in STEM; 6+ Years of relevant experience with a completed Master's degree in STEM; OR 4+ Years of relevant experience with a completed PhD in STEM [a completed degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is required to be considered for this role; an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree]
  • Must have Active/Final Top Secret security clearance at time of application
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced matrixed organization
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time. Ability to deploy for long term TDYs as needed to foreign countries.
  • Multi-disciplined engineer with experience in hardware, software, network and systems administration 

Preferred Qualifications

  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Hardware and software integration experience
  • Experience with US Army
  • RF experience in Ka, Ku, X and S bands
  • Experience with crypto (KG-175s, KIV-7, KGR-42)
  • Understanding of electrical SWAP (Size, weight, power) analysis
  • Systems Administration experience (Windows, Linux, VMWare, k8s/containers)
  • Network design experience (Cisco & HP switch troubleshooting)
  • Familiar with Radio Frequency (RF) engineering
  • Familiar with Hardware drawings, rack elevations, power distribution, and networking
  • Familiar with Development and presentation of System Engineering Technical Documents
  • Familiar with Requirements and Performance Specifications

Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
