Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled Embedded Systems Engineer or Architect with full-stack expertise to design, develop, and optimize embedded systems and their integration into our laser communication products. This role requires a deep understanding of embedded software, firmware, and system architecture, along with the ability to interface to other disciplines such as electronics, optomechanics, and environmental testing.

- Have a major role in defining the architecture of our embedded systems, ensuring scalability and real-time performance.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and firmware engineers to define and implement drivers, applications, and signal processing algorithms on different layers.
- Ensure a robust design following safety, reliability, and availability requirements
- Write requirements and technical documentation at different levels based on the defined architecture.
- Conduct design reviews, performance optimization, and enforcement of coding guidelines and best practices
- Support hands-on in implementation, testing, and verification.
What you bring with you
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in designing and developing software and/or firmware for embedded systems.
- Extended Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, FPGAs, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Good knowledge of bootloaders, encryption, authentication mechanisms, and driver development.
- Understanding of communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, ETH).
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling, simulation, and code generation
- Comfortable commanding system engineering tools like Enterprise-Architect or Capella
- Clear understanding of hardware abstraction layers and middleware. Experience with robotic or automotive frameworks such as ROS and AUTOSAR is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics and thrive in multi-disciplinary teams.
