We are seeking a Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer to join our talented SDA team in Redondo Beach, CA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing/automating creative solutions.

In this role, you will drive best practices and display excellence with all tasks. You will act as a key influencer in your team’s strategy and contribute significantly to the team. We’re always looking for new ways to evolve our configuration management, automated deployments, and software product line. We cover a wide variety of technologies including Jenkins, Fortify, Ansible, Atlassian suite, TeamForge, ASP, Visual Build, Docker, Kubernetes and many more.

Core Responsibilities:

• System analysis, design, develop, build, test, implement, and maintain various systems to meet functional objectives of the business
• Identify opportunities filling gaps in infrastructure, processes and automation
• Design technical systems solutions and provide hands-on project support to implement advanced automation technologies and services
• Assist development teams by deploying and configuring components in various environments
• Troubleshoot and triage services and solutions
• Design and collaboratively drive delivery of scalable software solutions
• Development of tools and processes for managing multiple programs
• Development and execution of testing of systems
• Development of execution harnesses, systems validation tools and code performance validation tools

Basic Qualifications:

• 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 6 years of relevant experience with Masters; 4 years of relevant experience with PhD
• Active Secret Clearance required at the time of application
• Experience with automation techniques
• Experience with Software Development Lifecycles, such as Waterfall or Agile
• Proficient in Windows or Linux
• Ability to write scripts
• Willingness to learn new technologies and teach others

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with good Configuration Management practices
• Understanding of computer networks
• Working knowledge of Integrated Development Environments such as Visual Studio or Eclipse
• Basic understanding of a common programming languages such as C#, C++ or Java
• Experience with software deployment technologies such as MSI Installers or RPM packages

Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
