Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Business Development Rep to support our Tactical Propulsion and Ordnance (TP&O) business in Rocket Center, WV.
The preferred location for this position is in Rocket Center, WV to be co-located with the TP&O Operating Unit.
Job Summary
This position will report to the Tactical Propulsion and Ordnance (TP&O) Business Development Director and will perform the duties of Business Development Lead for various opportunities. The Business Development lead will work closely with the TP&O BD Director, the TP&O Operations Unit Director, various Program Managers and lead engineers to provide the company with new business development briefings. Travel will be up to 35-40%
Job Responsibilities
- Work with the TP&O operating unit and Program teams to develop customer relationships with existing and new customers, including senior company and government agency leaders to ensure products and company are well known and respected.
- Support capture managers on various pursuits; lead customer relationship development (Prime OEMs and US Government customer) to understand need, budget, timelines, and competitor capability.
- Assemble and execute new business strategies in line with the current business overarching strategy.
- Make strategic adjustments to the Business Development Plans as necessary to adapt to product updates and evolving customer’s interest.
- Provide inputs to internal M&S, B&P and IRAD resource allocation decisions based on knowledge of future customer needs.
- Support Proposal Preparation, Review and Approval Process.
- Develop and Perform to a Strategic Plan including multi-year sales and marketing strategic plans that identify key products and markets that will enable the company to achieve its goals of growth and profitability.
- Create, update, and maintain SalesForce records to support new business opportunity pursuits, and gate reviews.
- Build and execute marketing and communications plans to support the specific opportunities.
- Regularly report to the company’s Management Team the status of all major opportunities assigned, and the status toward achieving the awards plan.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have 16 years of experience. Will consider a bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience or a master’s degree with 10 years of experience.
- Eight (8) or more years of experience in capture management, business development, project/business/program management or engineering
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree strongly preferred.
- Leverage knowledge of Joint Senior Service in the DoD Operational and Material Acquisition hierarchies, Test & Evaluation System, Operational and Strategic planning processes
- Familiarity and ability to work within the Northrop Grumman Enterprise processes and procedures to include Salesforce
- Attendance at a DoD Senior Service School or Equivalent
- Understand the DoD & intelligence budgets and marketplace
- Working knowledge of U.S. Government procurement policies and regulations
- Active Secret Clearance
