Position Purpose: The Industrial Engineer applies advanced problem-solving techniques and Lean Manufacturing principles to develop and optimize factories to maximize throughput, efficiency, and value. The Industrial Engineers is involved in Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layout, Line Balancing, Simulation and Process Modeling, Labor Performance Analysis, Process Mapping, and Project Management.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $100,000 - $185,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

·         Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement.

·         Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.

·         Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals.

·         Create process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics.

·         Build and maintain capacity models for work centers and products.

·         Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory expansion, manufacturing technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities.

·         Partner with project managers and other functions to execute projects that modify the factory footprint, change the layout of factory equipment, and/or add new capability.

·         Support competitive bids, factory proposals, business case development for future investments, and Make/Buy/Where analyses.

·         Participate in factory safety and ergonomic improvements.

·         Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications/Education:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 7 years of relevant experience

·         Experience with capacity/constraint analysis

·         Experience with factory layout and work cell design /optimization

·         Experience with project management

·         Six Sigma principles

·         Lean manufacturing principles

·         Experience with CAD software

·         Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education

•        Experience with discrete event simulation modeling preferred

•        Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

•        Strong analytical and creative thinking skills

•        Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task and adaptable to changing priorities

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.  BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
