Northrop Grumman Defense Sector is seeking a responsible Maintenance Janitor 2 to maintain our facilities at our Northridge, Ca location.  The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants.  It is important for a custodian/janitor to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building cleaning and upkeep. They will have the physical endurance required to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by emptying and cleaning trash receptacles, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap, sanitary products etc.)
• Wipe mirrors and windows
• Cleaning entrances, including glass doors and floors
• Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Possess working knowledge of the methods, technique, and materials used in custodial work
• Knowledge of safe use and disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness
• Ability to climb ladders and work from heights
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Good physical condition and strength

Basic Qualifications

• 2 years custodial work experience
• Knowledge of use of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
• Ability to climb ladders and work from heights
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Able to obtain a DOD clearance “Secret” level

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DOD clearance “Secret” level
• High school diploma or GED

Salary Range: $38,600.00 - $64,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
