We are seeking experienced Avionics Technicians / Mission Technicians to join our MRO Jacksonville team, specializing in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of avionics systems on commercial derivative aircraft. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in avionics systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The professionals chosen to fill these positions will join our MRO Jacksonville organization, working as part of a team in support of a variety of key customer programs such as military commercial derivatives and fighter aircraft. The candidates chosen will be responsible for adherence to established processes, accurate and timely work recording and contractual/regulatory compliance. Successful applicants will be based in Jacksonville, FL.

Position overview:

This position will provide critical support to MRO Jacksonville, FL, including improving production efficiency, safety and optimizing product quality.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of avionics, including missions, communication, navigation, and flight control systems.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and/or modify systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
  • Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
  • Solve problems with sophisticated avionics and electrical systems to isolate mechanical, electrical, or avionics faults and repair faulty components.
  • Conduct routine inspections and tests on avionics systems to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Perform validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Perform maintenance on aerial refueling systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to develop solutions for complex avionics problems.
  • Document procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results).
  • Inspect components and verify repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
  • Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and technological advancements in avionics systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
  • Work under general direction and ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures in all work activities.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working with aircraft avionics systems integration, avionics, flight controls, and other mechanical systems such as navigation, communication, and flight control systems.
  • 3+ years of experience working in aircraft maintenance hardware or software systems, i.e. ERPs, for planning, scheduling, and executing work assignments.
  • 3+ years of experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.
  • 3+ years of experience using schematics, blueprints, sketches, manuals, technical documents, written information, verbal information, applicable procedures, codes, and ordinances.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in avionics maintenance on commercial, or commercial derivative aircraft.
  • 3+ years of experience performing avionics maintenance on 737 aircraft.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of avionics systems, including but not limited to GPS, radar, autopilot, and communication systems.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting avionics systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Working Conditions:

  • May require working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $68,052 - $88,000.
