Job description

Mission Brief 

You’ll be part of the propulsion team, specifically the thrust chamber assembly (TCA) team. You’ll be part of a highly motivated team in a fast-paced environment with a focus on accelerating the design-built-test cycle. You’ll be responsible for conducting TCA component tests, data handling and data analysis of these tests, as well as improvements of the process and test setup.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

  • Water spray testing of TCA components including conducting tests, data handling and data analysis
  • Improving process and test setup of TCA component water spray tests
  • Support subscale, TCA or integrated engine hotfire tests including testing support, data handling and data analysis
  • Support the team in other tasks including conduction of CFD analysis, data analysis code improvements, CAD tasks and documentation

Qualification Checklist 

  • BSc/MSc in mechanical or aerospace engineering or comparable
  • Excellent understanding of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics
  • Hands-on experience in preparing and conducting rocket or aircraft engine or engine component tests
  • (Student) experience in data analysis of rocket or aircraft engine or engine component tests
  • (Student) experience in manufacturing of engine components (additive manufacturing experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in Python, Matlab or comparable programming language
  • Highly motivated, proactive, open-minded, willing to “get hands dirty” and eager to learn on the job
  • Fluent in English

Bonus Skills

  • Experience in non-reacting and reacting CFD simulations (ANSYS Fluent preferred)
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks preferred)
