Project Manager

Lunar Outpost has multiple rover missions to the lunar surface and is dedicated to creating a permanent human presence in space, while driving a positive impact here on Earth. We are seeking a Project Manager to help us create the future of lunar surface mobility in a fast-paced startup environment.

 

As an engineering Project Manager, you will lead technical projects, streamline development processes, and ensure successful execution of multiple engineering initiatives. Work will initially focus on the Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services (LTVS) program, creating the next lunar vehicle for astronauts. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and eager to contribute to the overall success of the company and the realization of our mission to enable a sustainable human presence in space.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead project execution by developing project proposals, plans and schedules, and establishing project goals and objectives 
• Manage project budget, resources and risks, and ensure timely project delivery 
• Communicate project statuses, issues, reports, and resolutions to important stakeholders, customers and suppliers
• Ensure project documentation is accurate and in compliance with industry standards, regulations, and requirements and manage risk mitigation strategies 
• Act as the primary liaison between cross-functional engineering teams, non-technical teams, leadership, and external partners

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in project management 
• Proficiency in various project management tools, similar to Microsoft Project and Jira
• Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet critical deadlines
• Team oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment

• This role requires in-office presence in Houston, Texas and the office address near the Clear Lake area will be shared at a later date

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP Certification
• Experience within aerospace environment
• Familiarity with government contracts, grant-funded projects, or regulatory compliance
