If you answered yes to both questions, then we have an exciting opportunity for you. Turion Space is hiring for a Spacecraft Modeling and Simulation Engineering intern for Summer of 2025. This opportunity will allow for you to own an early-stage digital-twin software set that will be used to quickly design and iterate on hardcore spacecraft engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and validation of spacecraft models for mission simulations.
- Contribute to the creation of system-level simulations, and performance analyses using simulation software (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Simulink, STK, FreeFlyer or other relevant tools).
- Collaborate with engineers to refine spacecraft models, including thermal, mechanical, and electrical subsystems.
- Support the analysis of spacecraft behavior in various mission scenarios (e.g., launch, orbit, and operations).
- Participate in team meetings and present progress on ongoing modeling and simulation tasks.
- Perform data analysis and assist with the generation of reports and documentation related to simulations.
- Contribute to team discussions, providing insight and feedback to collectively drive innovation across several related projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s program in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of spacecraft systems and mission design principles.
- Proficiency in Python or similar modeling and simulation software.
- Familiarity with orbital mechanics, flight dynamics, or space systems engineering concepts is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred:
- Previous internship or coursework related to spacecraft modeling, simulation, or space systems engineering.
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++).
- Strong interest in space exploration and aerospace technology.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, learn quickly, and handle complex technical tasks.

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
