Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Semiconductor Manufacturing Engineer to support Operations and Industrial Engineering activities for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Position Overview:
We are seeking an early career industrial or manufacturing engineer to join our Operations and Industrial Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in improving manufacturing efficiency, analyzing data, completing time studies, and helping to drive continuous improvement efforts. The candidate should be familiar with industrial engineering best practices, 5S and proficiency in Tableau. They will work closely with on shift Operations Managers and Industrial Engineers to increase overall productivity and success of the facility.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be expected to engage in tactical, hands-on work in the fab, where they will directly contribute to operational improvements, troubleshoot issues, and implement changes.
This position requires work on site in Northrop Grumman Baltimore, MD area facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze key manufacturing metrics, including throughput, tool performance, and scrap rates.
Leverage data to develop actionable insights and recommend improvements.
Utilize Tableau for data visualization and reporting to support decision-making processes.
Collaborate with operations team to identify and implement on shift improvements.
Use lean manufacturing principles and data analysis to streamline workflows, minimize waste, and optimize resource utilization.
Perform tactical work on in the fab, ensuring operations run smoothly on shift.
Must be able to work 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 10:00PM-7:00AM).

Basic Qualifications for Associate Microelectronics Semiconductor Manufacturing Engineer:
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or any related STEM degree with 1 years relevant industry experience.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Tableau, Excel, etc.).
Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present data and recommendations clearly.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Detail-oriented with a focus on problem-solving and throughput optimization.
Willingness to behands-on and engage directly with floor operations, addressing real-time challenges.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Must be able to work 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 10:00PM-7:00AM).

Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or any related STEM degree with 2 years relevant industry experience or Masters with a minimum of 0 years relevant industry experience or PhD with 0 years’ experience.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Tableau, Excel, etc.).
Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present data and recommendations clearly.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Detail-oriented with a focus on problem-solving and throughput optimization.
Willingness to behands-on and engage directly with floor operations, addressing real-time challenges.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Salary Range: $70,600.00 - $106,000.00Salary Range 2: $85,400.00 - $128,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
