Lunar Outpost has multiple rover missions to the lunar surface and is dedicated to creating a permanent human presence in space, while driving a positive impact here on Earth. We are seeking a Government Relations Manager to help us create the future of lunar surface mobility in a fast-paced startup environment.
As a Government Relations Manager, you will be essential in fostering and managing our relationships with government agencies critical to space exploration, ensuring the success of our projects and initiatives. This includes work on the Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services (LTVS) program, creating the next lunar vehicle for astronauts. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and eager to contribute to the overall success of the company and the realization of our mission to enable a sustainable human presence in space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders and agencies
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the government sector, starting with NASA
- Manage government contracts and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Represent Lunar Outpost in meetings, conferences, and other events with government officials
- Collaborate with internal teams to align government relations strategies with company goals
- Monitor and analyze policy developments and legislative changes that may impact the company
- Prepare and submit proposals, reports, and other documentation required for government projects
- Provide strategic advice to senior management on government relations and policy matters
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in government relations, business development, or a related field
- Strong understanding of government processes and regulations, particularly in the aerospace or technology sectors
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with government entities, with a strong existing network
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for space exploration and a commitment to advancing Lunar Outpost's mission
- This role requires in-office presence in Houston, Texas and the office address will be shared at a later date
