Omitron is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in federal acquisitions, deep knowledge of government procurement processes, and the ability to identify, shape, and secure opportunities.
This role requires strong business development acumen, technical awareness of network and cybersecurity solutions, and an ability to navigate complex acquisition strategies. While the primary focus is on defense and intelligence contracts, experience with civil and commercial acquisitions is a strong plus.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $170,000 to $230,000, depending on relevant experience, location, and other factors.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute business growth strategies for Omitron's new Network Engineering and Architecture Sector and its DoD/IC Sector.
- Collaborate across all sectors to strengthen Omitron’s offering to all customers.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue business opportunities in federal markets, including large IDIQ contracts, OTAs, SBIR/STTR programs, and direct acquisitions.
- Lead capture and proposal efforts, including crafting technical content, competitive positioning, pricing strategies, and compliance with FAR/DFARS and IC acquisition regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, and leadership teams to develop competitive solutions aligned with mission needs.
- Conduct market analysis to assess industry trends, emerging technologies, and government funding priorities in network and cybersecurity solutions.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with government customers, prime contractors, and commercial partners.
- Expand commercial market presence by identifying opportunities where DoD/IC technologies can be transitioned into enterprise or commercial applications.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, government forums, and networking events to expand visibility and influence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- US Citizenship required
- Security Clearance: Must have an active TS/SCI clearance to start
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, IT, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: 5-10 years of business development experience within DoD, IC, and/or federal IT sectors with a focus on network engineering and architecture.
- Proven success in identifying, capturing, and winning contracts in defense, intelligence, and civil acquisitions.
- Deep understanding of DoD and IC network infrastructures, cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., Zero Trust), cloud modernization, and secure communications technologies.
- Experience navigating government acquisition pathways, including IDIQs, OTAs, SBIR/STTR programs, and direct procurements.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS, intelligence agency procurement processes, and federal IT contracting strategies.
- Strong relationship management skills with government agencies, industry partners, and commercial clients.
- Ability to lead and support capture and proposal development efforts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver executive-level presentations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Direct experience working with DISA, NSA, DIA, NGA, NRO, Army PEO C3T, Air Force C4ISR, DHS, GSA, NASA, and other federal agencies.
- Strong background in network security, software-defined networking (SDN), and emerging cloud-based solutions.
- Experience with commercial acquisitions
- Knowledge of cybersecurity compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC, FedRAMP).
- Military or defense contracting background in network engineering, cybersecurity, or IT program management.
