The Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division within Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is seeking a Finance Manager 3. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.  The Finance Manager will partner with the Business Unit to achieve the Division’s financial and strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will maintain the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead development of the Business Unit Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Strategic Plan.
  • Manage program financials, including key line and cost forecasting, reporting and analysis, working capital analysis (accounts receivable forecasting, treasury forecasting, unbilled analysis, and aged receivables analysis).
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end business unit financial close activities.
  • Responsible to support and maintain Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and documentation.
  • Work with the finance and business management teams to develop strategies to improve financial performance based on metrics.

  • Support internal and external audit and maintain artifacts.

  • Coordinate content for Program, Division and Sector reviews.

  • Interface with business unit and sector personnel.

  • Support initiatives and ad hoc requests from Division, Sector, and Corporate leadership.

  • Provide direct management for a team of Finance analysts.

  • Mentor junior Finance analysts and develop professional analysts/managers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with 8 years of industry related experience in finance, accounting, or program control; a Master’s degree with 6 years; or a High School diploma (or equivalent) may be accepted with 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Requires a minimum 3 years in a leadership role
  • Requires experience with Financial Planning and Reporting including supporting monthly actuals and forecasts, Annual Operating Plans, and Long-Range Strategic Plans
  • Requires experience with ERP systems (SAP)
  • Requires experience with planning software/database systems (e.g., NGFP/Hyperion/Oracle Planning, Cognos)
  • Requires experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience with S4 Hana
  • Understanding of Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and the Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR).
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
  • Able to prepare and analyze data and figures
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
  • Possesses strong leadership and communication skills, ability to counsel, coach, develop, and motivate staff of professionals
  • Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field of study.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $133,400.00 - $200,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
